Berlin, but not from the Brandenburg Gate
Those who only know Berlin through its classic landmarks have not yet seen a part of the city. High above the Grunewald, on the Teufelsberg, stand the widely visible radar domes of a former listening station – today amidst weathered architecture, street art and a wide sky.
The illustration captures precisely this unique Berlin location. In the foreground, the large white domes, graffiti, and partly overgrown buildings dominate the scene. Behind them, the view opens up over the lush green of the Grunewald, stretching far into the city.
In the distance, the Berlin skyline appears with the TV Tower as a subtle landmark. Thus, several sides of Berlin meet on one mug: metropolis and forest, history and present, decay and new creativity.
A place with character and a pretty good view
The Teufelsberg is one of those places that can hardly be reduced to a single meaning. The artificially created mountain arose from the rubble of World War II. During the Cold War, its elevated position was used for an American listening station.
Today, characteristic domes, graffiti, and changing artworks shape its image. It is precisely this mixture that makes the place so typical of a Berlin that does not hide its past but constantly reinterprets it.
Between Urban Exploring and Watercolor
The illustration translates this raw atmosphere into a lighter, more picturesque style. Light blue and cream tones give air to the sky and domes, while olive, green, and ocher tones define the Grunewald. The stronger colors of the street art deliberately set urban accents in between.
As a result, the motif remains detailed but does not appear heavy. It combines the special architecture of Teufelsberg with the vastness of the landscape and that slightly improvised aesthetic that suits Berlin quite well.
330 ml of Berlin for everyday life
The white ceramic mug holds approx. 330 ml and is suitable for coffee, tea, cocoa or the first strong coffee in the morning. The light background makes the fine lines, green areas and colorful graffiti stand out particularly clearly.
It is a nice souvenir for people who have visited Teufelsberg themselves – but also an unusual Berlin gift for architecture lovers, photographers, urban explorers, street art fans and everyone whose Berlin doesn't end at the Reichstag and TV Tower.
Each mug is made only after your order. This turns a Berlin view into a small companion for everyday life – somewhere between coffee break, big city and Grunewald.
