Greetsiel – a harbor that preserves its stories
A fishing cutter lies at the pier, the masts tower over the red tiled roofs, and the colors of the historic houses are reflected in the harbor water.

From the cutter harbor to the twin windmills
In the foreground rests a traditional fishing cutter with a green hull, wooden wheelhouse, and towering masts. The loosely hanging fishing nets and weathered harbor piles recall the town's long fishing tradition.
Behind them, historic gabled houses with their warm brick facades line up. Above them rise the two Greetsiel windmills, whose large sails give the townscape its unmistakable silhouette.
To the right, the scene opens up to the green marsh landscape. Grasses, small flowers, and soft natural tones guide the gaze out of the harbor into the vastness of East Frisia.

Coastal colors on white paper
The illustration combines fine architectural and ship drawings with transparent watercolor paints. Brick red, cutter green, and light sand tones provide warm accents, while the water is rendered in loose shades of blue and gray.
