Alone – but at least with a view

The photograph was taken in 2022 as part of a photographic series by Mano et Arte. The focus is on landscapes and everyday situations that receive a second meaning level through perspective, cropping and short typographic statements.

In this photograph, the tension arises from the contrast between the dark, densely vegetated lower half of the picture and the almost empty sky. A single tall tree breaks through the horizon line and thereby almost inevitably becomes the protagonist.

Whether it is lonely, independent, or merely wants its peace remains open. Perhaps the event simply takes place behind closed doors.

PARTY OF ONE.

The vertically placed typography follows the portrait format of the image and underlines the upright, isolated position of the single tree. The title plays with solitude and independence, without fully defining the motif.

The result is a restrained black and white photograph between nature observation, subtle irony and a small residue of existentialism.
